When the words “Vintage Amplifier” get tossed around, it's easy to imagine the highly sought after and collectable amplifiers built in the 60’s-70’s. However, those designs had to stem from somewhere. Before amplifiers were ever designed around the guitar, the tube amplifier had many uses such as P.A. systems, home radios, and even personal film projectors.

British Audio has specialized in amplifier repairs and modifications for years. Our friend Craig from Eleven guitars came across this vintage Filmosound personal projector amplifier and brought it to us. Craig's vision for an amplifier that lives just on the edge of breakup inspired us and what came shortly after is something sure to be a unique sound in your arsenal. Utilizing point to point wiring techniques, this amp is built true to the style of the original production from the 1940's. This old-school way of building amplifiers is time consuming and requires unique technical skills, but the results are undeniable.  The cleans sparkle and dirty tones retain all the nuance that vintage hand built amplifiers are known for.
