Effective January 1, 2026

These terms apply to all equipment dropped off in person at British Audio Service, Inc. (“British Audio”) for evaluation, service, or repair.

By leaving equipment with British Audio and paying the applicable bench fee, the customer agrees to the following terms.

1. Bench Fee (Due at Check-In)

A bench fee is required at the time of drop-off.

  • The bench fee covers professional evaluation and diagnostic time.

  • The bench fee is applied toward the total repair cost if repair is performed.

  • The bench fee is non-refundable once evaluation has begun.

  • A repair estimate will not be provided without evaluation.

Bench fee amounts vary depending on product category and complexity.

2. Minimum One-Hour Labor Authorization

By leaving equipment for service, the customer authorizes British Audio to perform up to one (1) hour of labor at the applicable service rate for the product category without additional approval.

  • Labor rates vary depending on product type and complexity.

  • The bench fee is applied toward this first hour of labor if repair is completed.

  • If repair costs are expected to exceed one hour of labor or require additional parts, customer approval will be obtained before proceeding.

This authorization allows British Audio to efficiently complete minor or straightforward repairs without unnecessary delays.

Current service rates are published at britishaudio.com.

3. Rush Service

Rush service is optional and must be selected at check-in.

  • The rush fee guarantees priority in reaching the technician’s bench.

  • Rush service does not guarantee same-day or immediate repair completion.

  • If parts must be ordered, completion time will depend on parts availability.

  • Rush fees are separate from the bench fee and are not applied toward the final repair total.

4. Estimates & Repair Approval

  • After evaluation, customers will be contacted if repair exceeds the one-hour authorization.

  • No repair work beyond the authorized scope will be performed without customer approval.

  • Additional issues discovered during repair may require revised approval.

5. Warranty Service

  • Warranty repairs are subject to manufacturer approval.

  • If a unit is determined to be outside of warranty coverage, standard non-warranty charges apply.

  • Customers are responsible for charges if warranty coverage is denied by the manufacturer.

6. Payment & Pickup

  • Payment in full is required prior to release of equipment.

  • Equipment will not be released until all charges are paid.

  • Payment may be made in-store or online prior to pickup.

7. Storage & Abandoned Equipment

Customers will be notified when equipment is ready for pickup.

  • Equipment not picked up within thirty (30) days of notification may be subject to storage fees.

  • Equipment left unclaimed for an extended period may be considered abandoned.

  • British Audio reserves the right to dispose of or sell abandoned equipment in accordance with Tennessee law to recover unpaid balances and storage charges.

8. Limitation of Liability

British Audio is not responsible for:

  • Pre-existing conditions or undisclosed modifications

  • Failure of aging components unrelated to the original service request

  • Data loss, including digital presets or stored content

  • Cosmetic wear associated with normal service handling

Customers are responsible for backing up digital data prior to service.

9. Scope of Service

British Audio reserves the right to decline service on any product at its discretion.

Bench fees cover evaluation only and do not guarantee that repair is possible or economically practical.

10. Agreement

By paying the bench fee and leaving equipment with British Audio, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these Walk-In Repair Terms of Service.
